End of Quarter 1! What have I done during these past months? What have you done?

Time really flies. I notice that especially on Thursday, when I need to meet my PhD supervisor, Prof. Duncan. I feel a bit guilty for not achiving much during the week. But time really flies! Glimpse of eye, it's Thursday again. By the way, I've been in the 'head-damaging' process for 6 months, seems like the 'destruction' has not been really 'fatal' :P

I was worship leading in church last week. As usual, with my 'boleh-tahan' guitar skill. I tried my best through out the week, praying for songs, practicing myself, making sure they flows well. On the actual Sunday, just couldn't really bring out the 'power'. Received a few feedbacks, which somehow hamper me a bit. But I know, i need to improve and move on! Was quite motivated by what Aaron shared about the worship team in Bangkok, of practicing not less than 10 hours a week (both individual and team). How I wish I have more time :D

God has been really good to me, in term of my finance. I'm not waiting for the Yayasan S'wak scholarship money to arrive, and supposingly my bank account would be overdraft now. But surprise, surprise, it's still filled with some money, even without my saving. Nevertheless, money, please come ASAP! :P Back to how good God is :D Even without me asking around, I've been given several part time jobs. First is a tutor for a GCSE Math workshop for 3 days (£60 per day). Second, invilgilator for a Java test this afternoon. Third, Prof. Duncan offer me the marking job for his course student assignments. All in all, I have about £230++ extra income (after tax). Of course it will not occur frequently, but I know my God is faithful! I'll save part of the money for Euro Convention in August, while part of it will be supporting those in financial need to attend Easter Camp :)

Lately, I got a bit irritated by the house issue. I'm 'well-trained' back home: to be clean, tidy and organized (from both dad n mum). *sigh* not everyone like that .... so I got quite paranoid when I see the house in a mess (i.e. things not put back to the original place, dishes not wash, bathroom not clean, waste baskets not empty, dishes not wash .....) Late at night, walking and talking loudly..... I learn one thing: open one eye, close one eye and pray for them. I'll clean the house whenever I can. Hopefully, they will do the same too. Keep my fingers cross.

Oh yea ... we'll 'rugi' one hour this Sunday - daylight saving! At 12am, we'll move an hour ahead. So, M'sia - UK is 7 hours different starting this Sunday! It marks the beginning of SPRING!! Saw flowers start blossoming! It's such a enjoyable sight. The weather is still very cold though!

Anyway ... 2 weeks to go for Easter Camp. The church is on a 21 days pre-Easter camp fast journey. I fasted for 24 hours today ... don't feel the hunger. I also lost some waist size, which is good! I feel like i'm a ballon, can easily gain n lost weight (not too much of course) :P The Bible reading on 1 Corinthians now is so refreshing! Lots of reminders and lessons learnt.

Sorry, another long talkative blog! :P Will post some photos next time, if I've got any

Easter Camp 06 - Coming Soon

I've been blessed so much by attending church camps .... at least twice a year, since I join Hope. Why am I so passionate and excited about church camp? It's all about spending extensive time with God and your dearest brothers and sisters in Christ! We always liken that we are 'temporarily elevated to heaven', because we are 'cut off' from the world for a few days, only worship and Word of God and fellowship!

Of course my very first church camp in Hope JB (Aug 1998), I was quite reluctant to go ... my shepherd and my CG 'coarse' me to attend. In the end, I went. Know what, I got 'addicted' to camps! Hahaha

Don't miss out any opportunities of joining church camp! If there's no church camp in ur church, pester ur leaders for one! :D

For those in UK, Hope Church London's Easter Camp: Riches in Christ is just less than a month from now. Please approach me if you are interested to join! You won't regret!

Video about the camp site. Fanstastic facility and scenery!
The accommodation is superb! Food ... yet to find out! But, who cares! :D

Video about the lastest date for early bird registration.
You all still got a chance do so if you have not done it!

09 March 2006

Hey, it has been a while since i last update myself to you all. It is because of my busyness, coupled with my lazyness as well :P Updating blog require some motivation and urge to do it. But of course in my case, since I hardly on msn now (hehe .. not so true actually, I am always on 'appear offline' mode'), the best way for peopl to know my well-being is thru blog! It happens, there's one period, there's so much hype about 'blogging' in the unit ... but now the craze has died down. I'm sure there are a few 'faithful' blogger .. count me out :D Nevertheless, I will try to post something as often as possible.

Let me start from my research. 3 words: tough, tough, tough :D There is so much for me to learn at this stage, coming from a Mech Eng background to computing. I was being asked by a brother: 'Can you think 'logic', like the programmer did?' Indeed, it's hard ... that's why now I am starting from the basic, C++ programming. Through out the course, I will be mastering ITK (a software for image segmentation), VTK (for image visualization) and ANSYS (for Finite Element analysis). All the above require me to know programming. Past few weeks, I have been tutoring, on a first year subject - Discrete Mathematics. It was good pay (£20 per hour), so my Easter Camp fee is sorted! Currently, I'm preparing for a research paper presenation (13 March). In May, I'll be sitting for 2 exams, so about time to start my revision. In June, will be doing my 9th month report ... as Jacey said, it's not difficult! Keep my finger cross :D

Well, ministry ... was very excited last Friday, to witness 6 brothers n sisters from the unit being water-baptised. Congratulation to Scott, Tom, Kevin, Marcus, Rachel and Michelle :D Their testimony-sharing was inspiring and 'interesting', especially one of the them who has stage-fright ... until the point, I have to stand in front of her to speak on her behalf (while she whispered to me) :P The water was luke-warm ... wish it were warmer! But the whole ceremony was fantastic!

My weekday evenings are all dedicated to church: Mon - church meeting, Tue - K2 CG, Wed - K4 CG, Thu - K3 CG, Fri normally my off .. but most of the time preparing for Sunday. Now it fits well .... hopefully it can stay on like this for a while (the schedule). The next bit of course is to find time for sports: swimming (my college has free swimming facility) and tennis (Spring is here!!). Good that to find some 'kaki' ... but not yet materialized though! hehe

Oh yea ... i've gained weight! Just realised that I've been eating supper most of the time (the left over food by my housemate or sometime cereals). Yeap, should cut down / ban myself from eating before i go to sleep. Lately because of scholarship I've been awarded by Yayasan Sarawak, I am eating better. I've been eating japanese quite often lately! I join Imperial College M'sian Society .. the main reason I join is because the membership card entitle me to 10% discount on various restaurant across London!! I think i've 'untung balik' the £5 i paid for the membership! Hehe

It's great to hear from Ah Ching (my brother jst recently landed in Brisbane for his foundation course, later will pursue hotel management). Just the same advice ... be 'KUAI'!! Don't be naughty :D

That's all for now! Will update myself ... well .. probably 1 or 2 weeks times!
